COMMUNITY PROGRAMS

Generously supported by the Slaight Family Foundation

My Magic Hands

This Toronto-based program is an eight-week teaching magic program for at-risk youth and for children in hospitals. It is designed to build self-esteem, self-confidence, physical dexterity and creativity as children go through the learning process of discovering how to perform magic tricks.

Senior Sorcery

This interactive performing arts program brings live theatre, in the form of magic shows, to isolated seniors in and around the Greater Toronto Area. The program actively engages seniors, breaking the traditional fourth wall of theatre, with lively performances by a variety of magicians.

Dawes Award

While the magic art has been blessed with a number of notable historians over the past 135 years, Dr. Edwin A. Dawes is preeminent among them. In honour of Dr. Dawes, Magicana is pleased to announce the creation of a bursary to assist an individual pursuing doctoral studies related to magic.
